New Delhi, 15 Mar:The Election Commission of India will announce the Lok Sabha election date tomorrow, March 16, 2024.
The announcement will be made through the Election Commission’s social media handles. A press conference will be held at 3 PM tomorrow and livestreamed on the ECI’s social media platforms.
The ECI post stated: “Press Conference by Election Commission to announce schedule for #GeneralElections2024 & some State Assemblies will be held at 3 pm tomorrow i.e. Saturday, 16th March. It will be livestreamed on social media platforms of the ECI.”
The tenure for the present Lok Sabha will end on June 16th, and the new house has to be established before that. Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Sikkim are expected to vote in April/May, while Maharashtra, Haryana, and Jharkhand are slated to vote later this year.
This announcement comes days after the appointment of two new Election Commissioners, Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, to the Election Commission panel.
