NPP candidate seeks twelve thousand vote from Mawkyrwat constituency

Mawkyrwat, 14 Mar: The MP candidate of the National People’s Party (NPP), Dr. M Ampareen Lyngdoh, seeks support from the Mawkyrwat Constituency by requesting twelve thousand votes so she can win the upcoming MP election.

Addressing a meeting with party members in Mawkyrwat on Thursday, Lyngdoh stated that she needs the support of all party members to secure victory in the election. She stressed that she would not make any promises before the election, except for committing to work for the betterment of the people without resorting to financial influence.

Furthermore, she urged people not to succumb to social media content against the party without verifying the facts.

In defense of Tura seat MP candidate, Agatha Sangma, Lyngdoh highlighted that Agatha’s initiative led to the Central Government exempting the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act 2019 in Meghalaya after strong opposition from the State government.

Lyngdoh emphasised that people should consider giving the NPP a chance in the Shillong parliamentary seat to voice the State’s concerns in Parliament.

Other speakers at the meeting included Mawkyrwat MDC Carnes Sohshang, KHADC CEM Pyniaid Sing Syiem, and former MLA HM Shangpliang, among others.
