No Uranium mining in Meghalaya without people consent: CM Conrad Sangma

Shillong, 12 Mar: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today reassured the government’s stand on uranium mining stating that mining activities will not be allowed in the state without people’s consent and scientific assessment.

He was replying to a query on the letter sent by one organisation to the government of India on uranium mining in Meghalaya.

“It is regarding people’s lives, their health, and the future of our state. This matter has to be addressed in a careful manner,” Sangma said.
